Perhaps the most important program in the Office of Educational Development is our Consultation Services. Faculty can consult with our staff on any teaching issue, from designing a new course or revising a syllabus to classroom and lecturing issues. Our staff also observe classes on request and can arrange to have classes videotaped.
The Presidential Chair Fellows Program is a seminar/workshop series designed to bring a wide range of faculty together to discuss teaching issues. The Fellows meet once a month over lunch during the academic year and set their own agenda on the topics they wish to discuss.
The Lecturer Teaching Fellows Program provides a career development opportunity for lecturers with continuing appointments from throughout campus. The agenda for each monthly lunch-meeting is set by the participants and will cover a wide range of teaching issues.
Once a semester, the Committee on Teaching and the Office of Educational Development sponsor a forum on a topic of current interest to faculty. The Committee on Teaching forum is open to the entire campus community.
